Abstract:
Provided are a fiber manufacturing method, a non-woven fabric manufacturing method and fiber manufacturing equipment from which solvent can be efficiently recovered. Starting material polymer (15) (dope (25)) solubilized in methylene chloride (22) is brought into contact with water in a precipitation tank (8) to precipitate fibrous CA (28), which is an ultrafine fiber. The fibrous CA (28) is conveyed in liquid by a first liquid delivery unit (45) and sent to a water-rinsing tank (9). Water-rinsed fibrous CA (28) is sent to a water separation tank (56) by a second liquid delivery unit (46). In the water separation tank (56), the fibrous CA (28) is spread on a mesh belt and sheet CA (55) is obtained. The sheet CA (55) is passed through calender rolls (57) to obtain non-woven fabric (58). Because the precipitation tank (8) and water-rinsing tank (9) are sealed and the fibrous CA (28) is conveyed in liquid, the precipitation tank (8) and the water-rinsing tank (9) are never open to the ambient air. The solvent gas (48) from the precipitation tank (8) and the water-rinsing tank (9) is condensed and the solvent is recovered. Solvent is recovered efficiently without inclusion of inert gas.
