Abstract:
(EN) Methods for measuring lymphatic performance are provided herein. Lymphatic pressure is measured by introducing a near infrared flourophore into the limb of a mammal, detecting the lymph flow with near infrared lights and sensors, occluding lymph flow with a pressure cuff, and then noting the pressure at which lymph flow returns. Lymphatic performance is derived by comparing lymphatic pressure measurements taken at multiple points along a mammal's limb, and by measuring the rate at which lymph is emptied upstream from occluded vessels.
(FR) L'invention concerne des procédés de mesure de performance lymphatique. Une pression lymphatique est mesurée par introduction d'un fluorophore d'infrarouge proche dans le membre d'un mammifère, détection de l'écoulement de lymphe à l'aide des lumières d'infrarouge proche et des capteurs, occlusion de l'écoulement de lymphe à l'aide d'un brassard de pression, et indication de la pression à laquelle revient l'écoulement de lymphe. Une performance lymphatique est obtenue par comparaison des mesures de pression lymphatique prises à de multiples points le long d'un membre d'un mammifère, et par mesure de la vitesse à laquelle est vidée la lymphe en amont de vaisseaux obstrués.
