(EN)Example methods and apparatus are disclosed for diagnosing or assisting a diagnosis of a bone tissue condition. A specimen associated with bone tissue suspected of being infected is irradiated using a monochromatic light source. The specimen may be irradiated in vivo or ex vivo, and/or within a growth medium. Light scattered during the irradiation is gathered and its Raman spectral content is determined to detect one or more pathological calcium phosphate minerals, such as brushite and uncarbonated apatite, resulting from a conversion of carbonated-apatite in the presence of bacteria.
(FR)L'invention concerne des procédés illustratifs et un appareil pour diagnostiquer ou aider à un diagnostic d'un état de tissu osseux. Un échantillon associé au tissu osseux et suspecté d'être infecté est irradié à l'aide d'une source de lumière monochromatique. L'échantillon peut être irradié in vivo ou ex vivo, et/ou dans un milieu de croissance. La lumière diffusée pendant l'irradiation est captée, et son contenu spectral Raman est déterminé de façon à détecter un ou plusieurs minéraux de phosphate de calcium pathologiques, tels que la brushite et l'apatite non-gazeuse, résultant d'une conversion d'apatite carbonatée en présence de bactéries.
