Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Datenübertragung zwischen mindestens zwei Teilnehmern, wobei mindestens einer der Teilnehmer als ein fahrzeugseitiger Teilnehmer ausgebildet ist, wobei der mindestens eine fahrzeugseitige Teilnehmer mindestens eine virtuelle Maschine (VM) bereitstellt oder als virtuelle Maschine (VM) ausgebildet ist, wobei die mindestens eine virtuelle Maschine (VM) einen Server in einem Client-Server-Kommunikationsnetzwerk (1, 10) bildet, sowie ein Kommunikationsnetzwerk, ein Teilnehmer und ein Fahrzeug.
