(EN)Disclosed is a technique for interpolating a color signal of an image. The technique for interpolating a color signal of an image can reduce the amount of computation performed in the course of interpolating a color signal of an image, by generating horizontal interpolation data and vertical interpolation data on the basis of the result of interpolation of the color signal of the image per channel, obtaining a luminance signal difference value and a color difference signal difference value between pixels corresponding to a subject pixel and a compared pixel, respectively, on the basis of the difference value of the color signal obtained from the horizontal interpolation data and the vertical interpolation data, respectively, and determining the interpolating direction of the luminance signal and the interpolating direction of the color difference signal of the subject pixel by comparing a first luminance signal difference value and a first color difference signal difference value obtained from the horizontal interpolation data with a second luminance signal difference value and a second color difference signal difference value obtained from the vertical interpolation data.
