The present invention pertains to a process for the production of dialkyl ether wherein a C1-C3 alcohol is fed into a distillation column (2) comprising a reboiler (5) at its bottom, a condenser (4) at its top, a feed inlet (11) at a level between the reboiler and the condenser, and a stack of stages (6) in the column's interior, including stages (8) carrying a bed of catalytic material, the stages comprising sluices (19) which are simultaneously moved between a vapour flow position, allowing vapour to flow upwards through the catalytic beds during a vapour flow period, and a liquid flow position, allowing fluid to flow from an upper stage to a lower stage during a liquid flow period.

La présente invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'éther de dialkyle, un alcool en C1-C3 étant introduit dans une colonne de distillation (2) comportant un rebouilleur (5) au fond, un condenseur (4) en haut, une entrée d'alimentation (11) à un niveau entre le rebouilleur et le condenseur et un empilement d'étages (6) à l'intérieur de la colonne, comprenant des étages (8) portant un lit de matériau catalytique, les étages comprenant des vannes (19) qui sont simultanément déplacées entre une position de circulation de vapeur, laissant la vapeur circuler vers le haut en passant par les lits catalytiques pendant une période de circulation de vapeur, et une position d'écoulement de liquide, permettant à du fluide de s'écouler d'un étage supérieur à un étage inférieur pendant une période d'écoulement de liquide.
