Abstract:
(EN) Compositions and methods useful for producing an immune response in a subject specific for the RSV G protein are described herein. The new methods and compositions described herein are made possible by the development of a new recombinant RSV G protein fragment, which has been engineered for in vitro production and is antigenically similar to the native RSV G protein. The recombinant RSV G protein fragment is capable of inducing the production of RSV G-specific antibodies when injected into a subject. These antibodies can recognize both RSV A and RSV B strains and inhibit infection of both viruses. Accordingly, the compositions and methods described herein may be useful in protecting subjects from RSV infection via immunization, raising antibodies specific for RSV, which can in turn be used to treat RSV infection.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des compositions et des procédés utiles pour produire une réponse immunitaire chez un sujet, spécifique de la protéine G du VRS. Les nouveaux procédés et compositions sont rendus possibles grâce à la mise au point d'un nouveau fragment recombiné de protéine G du VRS, qui a été manipulé pour une production in vitro et qui est semblable du point de vue antigénique à la protéine G native du VRS. Le fragment recombiné de protéine G du VRS est apte à induire la production d'anticorps spécifiques de G du VRS lorsqu'il est injecté à un sujet. Ces anticorps peuvent reconnaître les deux souches VRS A et VRS B et ils inhibent l'infection par les deux virus. En conséquence, les compositions et les procédés décrits dans la description peuvent être utiles dans la protection de sujets contre une infection à VRS par l'intermédiaire d'une immunisation, élevant des anticorps spécifiques contre le VRS, qui peuvent à leur tour être utilisés pour traiter une infection à VRS.
