Abstract

A method of performing geometrical measurements of remote objects includes performing a laser sweep of a measurement object with a handheld sensor device including a distance measurement unit and an inertial measurement unit. The method includes activating the distance measurement unit to perform a plurality of distance measurements during the laser sweep, and activating the inertial measurement unit to perform an inertial measurement in association with each of the distance measurements. A processor is used to process the distance measurements with reference to the associated inertial measurements to determine a geometric characteristic of the measurement object.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'effectuer des mesures géométriques d'objets à distance comprenant la réalisation d'un balayage laser d'un objet devant être mesuré au moyen d'un dispositif capteur à main comprenant une unité de mesure de distance et une unité de mesure inertielle. Le procédé comprend l'étape consistant à actionner l'unité de mesure de distance pour effectuer une pluralité de mesures de distance au cours du balayage laser, et l'étape consistant à actionner l'unité de mesure inertielle pour effectuer une mesure inertielle en association avec chacune des mesures de distance. Un processeur est utilisé pour traiter les mesures de distance en référence aux mesures inertielles associées pour déterminer une caractéristique géométrique de l'objet devant être mesuré.
