Title: METHOD OF PRODUCING GRAIN ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET
Abstract:
A method of producing a grain oriented electrical steel sheet, said method comprising a series of steps including heating a steel slab that contains, in terms of mass%, 0.0005-0.005% of C, 2.0-4.5% of Si, 0.005-0.3% of Mn, not more than 0.05% of S and/or Se (total), 0.010-0.04% of sol. Al, not more than 0.005% of N and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, hot-rolling the steel slab, annealing the hot-rolled sheet if required, cold-rolling the sheet either once or twice or more including intermediate annealing to give a final sheet thickness, and then subjecting the sheet to primary recrystallization annealing and secondary recrystallization annealing, wherein the aging index (AI) of the steel sheet before the final cold-rolling is controlled to 70 MPa or lower so as to allow Goss oriented grains to effectively grow without restriction of use of a relatively large amount of C. Thus, a grain oriented electrical steel sheet having good magnetic characteristics can be obtained.
