[Problem] To reduce the thickness of a projector unit in the optical axis direction of a light source while more efficiently radiating heat from a light source. [Solution] The height is set as the shortest dimension among the height, width, and depth of a unit. A substrate (2) is disposed on the bottom surface of the unit and equipped with light sources (11-13) having an optical axis in the height direction. Each light source is equipped with a mirror (31-33) thereabove for bending the optical axis of the light source within a plane defined by the width and depth directions of the unit. A reflection type picture element (5) receives light bent by the mirrors, forms video light, and emits the video light therefrom. The video light is projected from a projection optical system (6) disposed on the optical path. The bottom surface of the substrate (2) is exposed from the unit, and the substrate is made of a material having a thermal conductivity of 150 W / (m∙K) or more. When the unit is installed in a housing of an electronic device, the exposed surface of the substrate (2) is brought into contact with a heat radiation member on the inner surface of the housing of the electronic device.
