Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an optical fiber cord having sufficient responsiveness to stress and an abnormality detection system using said optical fiber cord. [Solution] An optical fiber cord (20) is provided with an optical fiber (21a) and a cover member (22) that is formed from a plurality of threads braided together into a braided shape and covers the optical fiber (21a). Further, an abnormality detection system has the optical fiber (21a) covered by the cover member (22) formed by braiding together a plurality of threads into a braided shape, a scattered light detection unit (60) for detecting scattered light generated in the optical fiber (21a) and outputting data about the intensity distribution in the length direction of the optical fiber (21a), and a data processing unit (70) for determining whether there is an abnormality on the basis of the output of the scattered light detection unit (60).
