Abstract:
(EN) Multi-stranded wires (22) are clamped between an ultrasonic welding tip (24) and an opposing anvil (28). The multi-stranded wires (22) are made of a material that is more malleable than copper, or of a material that has a malleability that is substantially the same or greater than the malleability of aluminum. The plurality of multi- stranded wires (22) can be clamped between opposing side surfaces to further form the wire bundle. Ultrasonic energy is applied to a first side of the wire bundle adjacent the ultrasonic welding tip. After termination of ultrasonic energy to the first side, the wire bundle is rotated 180 degrees relative to the anvil (28) and ultrasonic energy is applied to a second side of the wire bundle, wherein the second side is oppositely disposed relative to the first side.
(FR) Des fils à brins multiples sont fixés entre un bec de soudage par ultrasons et une enclume en regard. Les fils à brins multiples sont constitués d'un matériau plus malléable que le cuivre ou d'un matériau dont la malléabilité est supérieure ou sensiblement égale à celle de l'aluminium. La pluralité de fils à brins multiples peut être fixée entre des surfaces latérales opposées pour former ensuite le faisceau de fils. Une énergie ultrasonore est appliquée à un premier côté du faisceau de fils adjacent au bec de soudage par ultrasons. Lorsque l'énergie ultrasonore n'est plus appliquée au premier côté, le faisceau de fils est tourné à 180 degrés par rapport à l'enclume et une énergie ultrasonore est appliquée à un second côté du faisceau de fils, le second côté étant situé à l'opposé du premier.
