Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to a method for conferring hydrophobicity on wood or wooden products by means of a chemical-enzymatic treatment. The treatment consists of the application of oxidase enzymes, preferably laccases, and a phenolic compound having a hydrophobic group to the wood or to a wooden product under particular environmental conditions. Under said conditions, the enzyme promotes the bonding of the compound having a hydrophobic group with the wood or wooden product, providing the treated wood or wooden product with the property of the compound. This type of bonding is permanent given that the hydrophobic compound bonds with the wood by means of stable chemical bonds, thus preventing the removal thereof in subsequent washes. This treatment can provide the wood with a greater resistance to moisture, which, owing to the increase in the dimensional stability and durability of the wood, improves the applicability of the wood.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé conçu pour conférer une hydrophobicité au bois ou à des produits en bois au moyen d'un traitement chimico-enzymatique. Ledit traitement consiste à appliquer des enzymes oxydases, de préférence laccases, et un composé phénolique avec un groupe hydrophobe sur le bois ou un produit en bois dans des conditions environnementales déterminées. Dans lesdites conditions, l'enzyme favorise la liaison du composé doté du groupe hydrophobe au bois ou au produit en bois, conférant la propriété du composé au bois ou au produit en bois traité. La liaison ainsi réalisée est permanente, bien que le composé hydrophobe est lié au bois au moyen de liaisons chimiques stables, évitant son extraction lors de lavages postérieurs. Ce traitement permet de doter le bois d'une meilleure résistance à l'humidité, ce qui améliore son application, en raison de l'augmentation de sa stabilité dimensionnelle et de sa durabilité.
(ES) La presente invención consiste en un procedimiento para proporcionar hidrofobicidad a la madera o productos madereros mediante un tratamiento químico-enzimático. Dicho tratamiento consiste en la aplicación de enzimas oxidasas, preferentemente lacasas, y de un compuesto fenólico con un grupo hidrofóbico a la madera o a un producto maderero bajo unas condiciones ambientales determinadas. En dichas condiciones, el enzima promueve la unión del compuesto con grupo hidrofóbico a la madera o producto maderero confiriendo la propiedad del compuesto a la madera o producto maderero tratado. La unión de este modo es permanente ya que el compuesto hidrofóbico se une a la madera mediante enlaces químicos estables, evitando su arrastre en posteriores lavados. Este tratamiento permite dotar a la madera de una mayor resistencia a la humedad, lo cual mejora su aplicación, debido al incremento de su estabilidad dimensional y su durabilidad.
