Abstract:
(EN) A method of bootstrapping from a remote image file comprising loading, by a processor, an initial bootloader, employing the initial bootloader to download a final bootloader from the remote image file via a network, employing the final bootloader to mount the remote image file as a block device, downloading a kernel and root file system mounting data from the remote image, and executing the kernel to bootstrap the processor based on the root file system mounting data.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé d'amorçage à partir d'un fichier image distant, comportant les étapes consistant à faire charger par un processeur un programme d'amorçage initial, à employer le programme d'amorçage initial pour télécharger un programme d'amorçage final à partir du fichier image distant via un réseau, à employer le programme d'amorçage final pour monter le fichier image distant en tant qu'unité par blocs, à télécharger un noyau et des données de montage du système de fichier racine à partir de l'image distante, et à exécuter le noyau pour amorcer le processeur en se basant sur les données de montage du système de fichier racine.
