La présente invention permet de déterminer et de produire une position actuelle précise de façon fiable, en une courte période de temps, et à un faible coût, et ce même dans un environnement dans lequel le signal de satellite provenant d’un satellite de positionnement est sujet à une influence complexe de bâtiments, terrains et similaires, la présente invention étant pourvue d’une unité réceptrice qui reçoit un signal de satellite provenant d’un satellite de positionnement et calcule, sur la base du signal de satellite, une pseudodistance par rapport au satellite de positionnement et une unité de positionnement qui calcule une position initiale sur la base de la pseudodistance calculée par l’unité réceptrice, calcule les pseudodistances à partir d’une pluralité de positions autour de la position initiale par rapport au satellite de positionnement à l’aide d’informations cartographiques tridimensionnelles et d’un traçage de rayon, sélectionne des positions candidates parmi la pluralité de positions sur la base des pseudodistances et détermine la position actuelle sur la base des positions candidates ayant des distances suffisamment petites par rapport à la position initiale pour satisfaire à une condition prescrite.

構造物、地形等によって測位衛星からの衛星信号が複雑な影響を受ける環境下であっても、短時間で、かつ、低コストで安定的に正確な現在位置を決定して出力することができるようにする。そのため、測位衛星からの衛星信号を受信し、衛星信号に基づき、測位衛星までの擬似距離を算出する受信ユニットと、受信ユニットが算出した擬似距離に基づいて初期位置を算出し、3次元地図情報及びレイトレーシング法を用いて初期位置の周辺の複数位置における測位衛星までの擬似距離を算出し、擬似距離に基づいて複数位置のうちから候補位置を選択し、初期位置との距離が所定条件を満たす程度に小さい候補位置に基づいて現在位置を決定する測位ユニットとを有する。
