(EN)A double -balloon inferior vena cava (IVC) shunt for use in controlling blood loss and simultaneously maintaining venous return is disclosed. The IVC shunt comprises a first balloon-catheter unit and second balloon-catheter unit that are slidably coupled to one another to form an adjustable shunt. The first and second balloons in the shunt are independently inflatable. The double-balloon shunt is readily adjustable to fit the dimensions of the injured region.
(FR)L'invention concerne un shunt pour veine cave inférieure (VCI) à deux ballonnets destiné à être utilisé pour réguler la perte sanguine et maintenir simultanément un retour veineux. Le shunt de VCI comprend une première unité de cathéter à ballonnet et une seconde unité de cathéter à ballonnet qui sont couplées l'une à l'autre avec faculté de glissement pour former un shunt ajustable.
