Abstract

Disclosed are processes for preparing sol-gel resins from phenolic compounds and aldehydes. The process includes reacting an hydroxylated benzene and a catalyst with an aldehyde to form a liquid storage stable intermediate. The storage stable intermediate may then be stored for a period of time before being utilized in a process to prepare the sol-gel resin, in either monolith or particle form, by subsequently reacting the intermediate with an hydroxylated benzene and a catalyst.

La présente invention concerne des procédés de préparation de résines sol-gel à partir de composés phénoliques et d'aldéhydes. Le procédé comprend une étape consistant à faire réagir un benzène hydroxylé et un catalyseur avec un aldéhyde pour former un intermédiaire liquide stable au stockage. L'intermédiaire stable au stockage peut ensuite être stocké pendant un certain temps avant d'être utilisé, sous la forme d'un monolithe ou de particules, dans le cadre d'un processus de préparation de la résine sol-gel consistant à faire réagir ultérieurement l'intermédiaire avec un benzène hydroxylé et un catalyseur.
