The objective of the present invention is to provide: an optical film which is substantially capable of providing λ/4 retardation, while being suppressed in changes in the optical performance due to humidity changes, and which also has a function as a polarizing plate protective film; a circularly polarizing plate which is provided with this optical film; and an organic electroluminescent display device which is provided with this circularly polarizing plate as an anti-reflection member. An optical film of the present invention is characterized by containing a cellulose derivative and having an in-plane retardation (Ro550) of the film as measured at a light wavelength of 550 nm in an environment at 23°C and at a relative humidity of 55% within a specific range and a ratio of the in-plane retardation (Ro450) to the in-plane retardation (Ro550) of the film as measured respectively at light wavelengths of 450 nm and 550 nm within a specific range. This optical film is also characterized in that: a substituent of the glucose skeleton of the cellulose derivative satisfies a specific condition; and a compound (A) which has a specific orientation is contained in this optical film.

La présente invention a pour objectif de réaliser : un film optique qui est sensiblement capable de produire un retard optique λ/4 tout en éliminant les variations de ses performances optiques liées aux variations de l'humidité, et qui remplit également une fonction de film de protection de plaque de polarisation ; une plaque de polarisation circulaire qui est munie de ce film optique ; et un dispositif d'affichage électroluminescent organique qui est muni de la plaque de polarisation circulaire en tant qu'élément anti-réflexion. Un film optique selon la présente invention est caractérisé en ce qu'il contient un dérivé de cellulose et possède un retard optique dans le plan (Ro550) du film, mesuré à une longueur d'onde de la lumière de 550 nm dans un environnement à 23 °C et une humidité relative de 55 %, qui se trouve dans une plage spécifique et un rapport entre le retard optique dans le plan (Ro450) et le retard optique dans le plan (Ro550) du film, mesurés respectivement aux longueurs d'onde de lumière de 450 nm et de 550 nm, dans une plage spécifique. Le film optique selon l'invention est également caractérisé en ce qu'un substituant de la chaîne de glucose du dérivé de cellulose satisfait à une condition spécifique ; et ce film optique contient un composé (A) qui présente une orientation spécifique.

 本発明の課題は、実質的にλ/4の位相差を付与することができ、更に、湿度変動による光学性能の変動が抑制され、偏光板保護フィルムとしての機能も併せ持つ光学フィルムと、当該光学フィルムを具備した円偏光板及び当該円偏光板を反射防止部材として具備した有機エレクトロルミネッセンス表示装置を提供することである。 本発明の光学フィルムは、温度23℃、相対湿度55%の環境下、光波長550nmで測定したフィルム面内の位相差値Ro550、光波長450nm及び550nmでそれぞれ測定したフィルム面内の位相差値Ro450とRo550との比の値が特定の範囲内であるセルロース誘導体を含有し、当該セルロース誘導体のグルコース骨格が有する置換基が、特定の要件を満たし、かつ、特定の配向性有する化合物Aを含有することを特徴とする。
