Provided are: an organic EL element which has practically satisfactory light emission characteristics, driving voltage and durability; and a compound for organic EL elements, which is used in this organic EL element. An organic EL element which is obtained by laminating, on a substrate, a positive electrode, a plurality of organic layers including a light emitting layer, and a negative electrode. This organic EL element contains, as a compound for organic EL elements, an adamantane compound that has at least one triarylborane structure in each molecule in at least one organic layer that is selected from among a light emitting layer, a hole transport layer, an electron transport layer, a hole blocking layer and an electron blocking layer.

L'invention concerne : un élément EL organique qui présente des caractéristiques d'émission de lumière, de tension de commande et de durabilité pratiquement satisfaisantes; et un composé pour éléments EL organiques, qui est utilisé dans cet élément EL organique, l'élément EL organique étant obtenu par stratification, sur un substrat, d'une électrode positive, d'une pluralité de couches organiques incluant une couche d'émission de lumière, et d'une électrode négative. Cet élément EL organique contient, comme composé pour éléments EL organiques, un composé adamantane qui a au moins une structure triarylborane dans chaque molécule dans au moins une couche organique sélectionnée parmi une couche d'émission de lumière, une couche de transport de trous, une couche de transport d'électrons, une couche de blocage de trous et une couche de blocage d'électrons.
