A method for producing an amine. The first step is contacting a cyanide, an acid, water and a substrate compound capable of generating a carbonium ion by reaction with the acid to generate a first reaction intermediate. The second step is contacting the first reaction intermediate with water to form a second reaction intermediate. The third step is removing cyanide present in the second reaction intermediate to a concentration less than 10 ppm. The fourth step is contacting the second reaction intermediate with an alkali metal hydroxide to form the amine

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'une amine. La première étape dudit procédé consiste à mettre en contact un cyanure, un acide, de l'eau et un composé de type substrat capable de générer un ion carbonium par réaction avec l'acide afin d'obtenir un premier intermédiaire réactionnel. La deuxième étape consiste à mettre en contact le premier intermédiaire réactionnel avec de l'eau afin d'obtenir un second intermédiaire réactionnel. La troisième étape consiste à éliminer le cyanure présent dans le second intermédiaire réactionnel jusqu'à ce que sa concentration ne dépasse plus 10 ppm. La quatrième étape consiste à mettre en contact le second intermédiaire réactionnel avec un hydroxyde de métal alcalin afin d'obtenir l'amine.
