The invention is a gradient ballistic material and honeycomb grille that includes a louver system and a honeycomb structure. The louver system contains a gradient of ballistic materials to improve air handling and protection. The louver system may be constructed of one or more pieces of ballistic material so that at least one section is harder than a second section. The honeycomb structure acts a "catcher" or backstop to collect the fragments created by a projectiles contact with the harder section of the louver system.

L'invention se rapporte à une grille à structure en forme de nid d'abeilles et à matériau balistique à gradient qui comprend un système de persienne et une structure en nid d'abeilles. Le système de persienne contient un gradient de matériaux balistiques afin d'améliorer le traitement d'air et la protection. Le système de persienne peut être composé d'une ou plusieurs pièces d'un matériau balistique de telle sorte qu'au moins une section soit plus dure qu'une seconde section. La structure en nid d'abeilles fait office de « dispositif de réception » ou d'écran arrière pour collecter les fragments créés par un contact de projectiles avec la section plus dure du système de persienne.
