Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for reducing spillover in a media monitoring system are disclosed. An example method includes identifying media associated with media monitoring data. The media monitoring data is received from a first meter associated with a first media presentation device. The example method includes identifying an expected sound pressure level associated with the first meter. The example method includes comparing the expected sound pressure level to an actual sound pressure level collected from the media by the first meter to determine if spillover occurred. The example method includes crediting the media as a media exposure if spillover did not occur.

L'invention concerne des procédés, un appareil, et des articles de fabrication permettant de réduire un débordement dans un système de contrôle multimédia. Un exemple de procédé consiste à identifier un média associé à des données de contrôle multimédia. Les données de contrôle multimédia sont reçues à partir d'un premier compteur associé à un premier dispositif de présentation multimédia. Le procédé décrit à titre d'exemple consiste à identifier un niveau de pression acoustique prévu associé au premier compteur. Le procédé décrit à titre d'exemple consiste à comparer le niveau de pression acoustique prévu à un niveau de pression acoustique réel collecté à partir du média par le premier compteur pour déterminer si un débordement a eu lieu. Le procédé décrit à titre d'exemple consiste à créditer le média pour une exposition médiatique si un débordement n'a pas eu lieu.
