Abstract

A method and apparatus for transmitting a plurality of elementary data streams to a plurality of receivers is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of generating M data streams comprising K multiplexed elementary data streams in a first entity, transmitting the M data streams to a second entity, generating N transmitter streams from the M data streams in the second entity; and transmitting each of the N transmitter streams to the plurality of receivers using an associated one of N broadcast sub-transmitters.

L'invention concerne un procédé et appareil d'émission d'une pluralité de flux élémentaires de données vers une pluralité de récepteurs. Dans un mode de réalisation, le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à générer M flux de données comportant K flux élémentaires de données multiplexés dans une première entité, à émettre les M flux de données vers une deuxième entité, à générer N flux d'émetteurs à partir des M flux de données dans la deuxième entité; et à émettre chacun des N flux d'émetteurs vers la pluralité de récepteurs en utilisant un sous-émetteur associé parmi N sous-émetteurs de diffusion.
