A method of assembling a flexible shaft drive transmission (4701) coupled between a drive motor and a power operated tool including the steps of: providing a drive transmitting shaft assembly (4800) including a flexible, elongated flex shaft (4702); providing an outer casing assembly (4702) including an outer casing (4704) defining a longitudinally extending throughbore and having a motor end (4710) and a tool end (4780); sliding a lock sleeve (4750) onto the motor end of the outer casing to a recessed position with respect to the motor end of the casing; inserting the motor end of the flex shaft through the tool end of the outer casing; affixing a driven fitting (4814) to the motor end of the flex shaft; advancing the lock sleeve to overlie the motor end of casing; and affixing a casing portion (4762) of the lock sleeve to the outer casing.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'assemblage d'une transmission d'entraînement à arbre flexible (4701) couplée entre un moteur d'entraînement et un outil motorisé comprenant les étapes consistant à : fournir un ensemble d’arbre de transmission d'entraînement (4800) comprenant un arbre flexible allongé souple (4702); fournir un ensemble de boîtier externe (4702) comprenant un boîtier externe (4704) définissant un orifice traversant s'étendant longitudinalement et possédant une extrémité moteur (4710) et une extrémité outil (4780); faire coulisser un manchon de blocage (4750) sur l'extrémité moteur du boîtier externe jusqu'à une position renfoncée par rapport à l'extrémité moteur du boîtier; insérer l'extrémité moteur de l'arbre flexible à travers l'extrémité outil du boîtier externe; fixer un accessoire entraîné (4814) à l'extrémité moteur de l'arbre flexible; faire avancer le manchon de blocage pour recouvrir l'extrémité moteur du boîtier; et fixer une partie de boîtier (4762) du manchon de blocage au boîtier externe.
