Abstract
(EN) A method and apparatus for verifying the status of a wireless connection between a wireless device and an access point are disclosed. If the number of missed beacon frames exceeds a threshold value, the wireless device transmits a link verification request to the access point. If the wireless device receives a response to the link verification request, the wireless device may verify the connection and then retrieve downlink data from the access point. If the wireless device does not receive a response, then the wireless device may terminate the wireless connection.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un procédé et sur un appareil qui permettent de vérifier l'état d'une connexion sans fil entre un dispositif sans fil et un point d'accès (AP). Si le nombre de trames balises manquées dépasse une valeur seuil, le dispositif sans fil transmet une requête de vérification de liaison au point d'accès. Si le dispositif sans fil reçoit une réponse à la requête de vérification de liaison, le dispositif sans fil peut vérifier la connexion et récupérer ensuite des données de liaison descendante provenant du point d'accès. Si le dispositif sans fil ne reçoit pas de réponse, alors le dispositif sans fil peut mettre fin à la connexion sans fil.
