Abstract
(EN) Object-level replication of cloned objects from a source file system to a target file system in a data storage system maintains relationships between related objects including shared data blocks so that storage requirements in the target file system match storage requirements of the source file system. Specialized processing may be used to scan an indirection object that refers to other file system objects such that objects requiring replication can be identified on an incremental basis based on checkpoint numbers. Checkpoints in the target file system are managed so that checkpoint number requirements for replicated clone objects are enforced in the target file system.
(FR) L'invention concerne la duplication au niveau objet d'objets clonés d'un système de fichiers d'origine à un système de fichiers de destination dans un système de stockage de données, caractérisé en ce qu'il maintient des relations entre des objets apparentés comprenant des blocs de données communs, de telle façon que les besoins de stockage dans le système de fichiers de destination coïncident avec les besoins de stockage du système de fichiers d'origine. Un traitement spécialisé peut être utilisé pour explorer un objet d'indirection qui fait référence à d'autres objets de système de fichiers de telle façon que des objets nécessitant une duplication puissent être identifiés de façon incrémentale sur la base de nombres de points de contrôle. Des points de contrôle dans le système de fichiers de destination sont gérés de telle façon que les besoins en nombre de points de contrôle pour les objets clonés dupliqués soient mis en pratique dans le système de fichiers de destination.
