Abstract
(EN) An approach is provided for providing efficient power saving schemes for a device and any associated sensors thereon while allowing for various levels of functionalities. A device determines a distance from a location of a device on a route to a checkpoint location on the route based, at least in part, on mapping data associated with the route. Then the device causes an initiation of a sleep mode of operation for at least one location sensor associated with the device. Further, the device causes an initiation of an active mode of operation for the at least one location sensor based, at least one in part, on a determination that the device has substantially traveled the distance, a portion of the distance, or a combination thereof.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une approche permettant de procurer des plans efficaces d'économie d'énergie à un dispositif et aux capteurs placés sur ce dernier, tout en permettant divers niveaux de fonctionnalités. Un dispositif détermine une distance entre la position d'un dispositif se trouvant sur un itinéraire et une position de point de contrôle se trouvant sur l'itinéraire, la détermination de la distance étant basée, au moins en partie, sur des données cartographiques associées à l'itinéraire. Ensuite, le dispositif met en veille au moins un capteur de position associé au dispositif. En outre, le dispositif met en fonctionnement le ou les capteurs de position sur la base, au moins en partie, d'une détermination indiquant que le dispositif a pratiquement parcouru la distance et/ou une partie de la distance.
