The present invention relates to an aqueous resin composition (I) comprising at least one polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane polymer (A), optionally, at least one polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated compound (B) different from (A), and optionally, at least one neutralizing agent (C); wherein the polyurethane polymer (A) has a weight average molecular weight of less than 15.000 Daltons and is obtained from the reaction of: at least one polyisocyanate (i); at least one hydrophilic compound (ii) containing at least one reactive group capable to react with isocyanate groups and at least one group which is capable to render the polyurethane polymer dispersible or soluble in aqueous medium either directly or after reaction with a neutralizing agent (C) to provide a salt; at least one compound (iii) containing essentially one reactive group capable to react with isocyanate groups and at least one copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated group; at least one compound (iv) containing at least two reactive groups capable to react with isocyanate groups; and, optionally, at least one chain extender (v) containing at least two reactive groups capable to react with isocyanate groups, which chain extender is different from compounds (iv); and wherein the non-volatile components of the resin composition (I) after drying are re-dispersible or re-soluble in water at 25°C. The present invention further relates to radiation curable compositions comprising a resin composition of the invention for use in coating applications or graphic art applications.

La présente invention concerne une composition de résine aqueuse (I) comprenant au moins un polymère de polyuréthane éthyléniquement insaturé polymérisable (A), éventuellement au moins un composé éthyléniquement insaturé polymérisable (B) différent de (A) et éventuellement au moins un agent neutralisant (C). Le polymère de polyuréthane (A) présente un poids moléculaire pondéral moyen inférieur à 15 000 daltons et est obtenu à partir de la réaction de : au moins un polyisocyanate (i) ; au moins un composé hydrophile (ii) contenant au moins un groupe réactif pouvant réagir avec les groupes isocyanate et au moins un groupe pouvant rendre le polymère de polyuréthane dispersible ou soluble dans un milieu aqueux, soit directement, soit après réaction avec un agent neutralisant (C) de manière à obtenir un sel ; au moins un composé (iii) contenant essentiellement un groupe réactif pouvant réagir avec les groupes isocyanate et au moins un groupe éthyléniquement insaturé copolymérisable ; au moins un composé (iv) contenant au moins deux groupes réactifs pouvant réagir avec les groupes isocyanate ; et éventuellement au moins un agent d'allongement de chaîne (v) contenant au moins deux groupes réactifs pouvant réagir avec les groupes isocyanate, l'agent d'allongement de chaîne étant différent des composés (iv). Les constituants non volatils de la composition de résine (I) après séchage sont redispersibles ou peuvent être remis en solution dans de l'eau à 25°C. La présente invention concerne en outre des compositions durcissables par un rayonnement, comprenant une composition de résine selon l'invention, destinées à être utilisées dans des applications de revêtement ou des applications d'art graphique.
