Abstract
(EN) Various systems, methods and devices adaptively manage the multicast delivery of multiple media programs. Each of the media programs is encoded into multiple media streams, each stream having a different bitrate, frame rate, resolution or other encoding parameter. A computer receives feedback about the delivery of the multiple streams and automatically adapts the number of streams available for at least one of the multiple media programs in response to the received feedback. This allows resources to be applied to those multicast streams having the greatest user demand.
(FR) La présente invention concerne divers systèmes, procédés et dispositifs, qui gèrent de manière adaptative la multidiffusion de multiples programmes multimédias. Chacun des programmes multimédias est codé en de multiples flux multimédias, chaque flux présentant un débit binaire, un débit d'images, une résolution ou un autre paramètre de codage différent. Un ordinateur reçoit un retour concernant la diffusion des multiples flux et adapte automatiquement le nombre de flux disponibles pour au moins un des multiples programmes multimédias en réponse au retour reçu. Cela permet d'appliquer les ressources aux flux de multidiffusion recevant la plus grande demande d'utilisateur.
