Abstract:
(EN) Methods and apparatus for use in communication systems using recursive modulation schemes with a Low Density Generator Matrix code (including an irregular repeat accumulate (IRA) code) are described that have reduced complexity and thus reduced cost compared to prior art systems. A communication system is described in which the transmitter concatenates a low density generator matrix code with an accumulator followed by a recursive modulator in order to eliminate the use of an interleaver, and in which the receiver combines the decoder for the accumulator and the soft demodulator into a single joint decoder in order reduce the number of components and complexity. Another variation is also described in which the transmitter is further simplified by eliminated the accumulator altogether, and in which the receiver is further simplified by replacing the joint decoder with a soft demodulator prior to the LDGM soft decoder.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés et un appareil destinés à une utilisation dans des systèmes de communication utilisant des systèmes de modulation récursive à code de matrice de générateur à faible densité (LDGM) (notamment un code irrégulier à répétition-accumulation (IRA)), lesdits procédés et appareil présentant une complexité et, par conséquent, un coût réduits par rapport aux systèmes de l'art antérieur. La présente invention concerne un système de communication dans lequel l'émetteur concatène un code de matrice de générateur à faible densité avec un accumulateur suivi d'un modulateur récursif afin de mettre fin à l'utilisation d'un entrelaceur, et dans lequel le récepteur combine les décodeurs destinés à l'accumulateur et au démodulateur programmable en un seul décodeur combiné afin de réduire le nombre de composants et la complexité. La présente invention concerne également une variante dans laquelle l'émetteur est rendu plus simple encore en supprimant totalement l'accumulateur et dans laquelle le récepteur est rendu plus simple encore en remplaçant le décodeur combiné par un démodulateur programmable monté avant le décodeur programmable LDGM.
