Abstract:
(EN) A wheel axle (18) of a rail vehicle is provided with an electro-dynamic brake system (33) and with a not fully rated mechanical braking system (22). A braking method for braking the wheel comprises at least a service braking mode carried out solely with the electro-dynamic braking system (33), a parking brake mode carried out solely by the mechanical braking system (22), and an emergency braking mode comprising a first level emergency braking mode carried out solely by the electro-dynamic braking system (33) and a second level emergency braking mode activated when the first level emergency braking mode has a malfunction and carried out solely by the electro-dynamic braking system (33) as long as a low efficiency condition of the electro-dynamic braking system is not met and at least partly by the mechanical braking system (22) when the low efficiency condition of the electro-dynamic braking system (33) is met.
(FR) Essieu (18) de roue d'un véhicule ferroviaire pourvu d'un système de freinage électrodynamique (33) et d'un système de freinage mécanique pas entièrement nominal (22). Un procédé de freinage destiné à freiner la roue comprend au moins un mode freinage de service exécuté uniquement avec le système de freinage électrodynamique (33), un mode frein de stationnement exécuté uniquement par le système de freinage mécanique (22) et un mode freinage d'urgence comprenant un mode freinage d'urgence de premier niveau exécuté uniquement par le système de freinage électrodynamique (33) et un mode freinage d'urgence de second niveau activé lorsque le mode freinage d'urgence de premier niveau présente un dysfonctionnement et exécuté uniquement par le système de freinage électrodynamique (33) tant qu'un état de faible efficacité du système de freinage électrodynamique n'est pas rencontré et au moins partiellement par le système de freinage mécanique (22) lorsque l'état de faible efficacité du système de freinage électrodynamique (33) est rencontré.
