Abstract

A method for digital driving of an active matrix display with a predetermined frame rate is described. The display contains a plurality of pixels organized in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. The method includes representing each of the plurality of pixels of an image to be displayed within a frame by an n-bit digital image code. The method also includes dividing the image frame into sub-frames, which may be of substantially equal duration. Within each sub-frame, the method includes sequentially selecting at least one of the plurality of rows twice. Upon a first selection, a first digital code is written to the selected row and upon a second selection a second digital code is written to the selected row. There is a predetermined time delay between the second selection and the first selection. Digital driving circuitry is also described.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la commande numérique d'un affichage à matrice active ayant une fréquence de trames préétablie. L'affichage contient une pluralité de pixels organisés en une pluralité de lignes et une pluralité de colonnes. Le procédé consiste à représenter chaque pixel de la pluralité de pixels d'une image à afficher dans une trame par un code d'image numérique à n bits. Le procédé consiste aussi à diviser la trame d'image en sous-trames, lesquelles peuvent être de durées sensiblement égales. Dans chaque sous-trame, le procédé consiste à sélectionner séquentiellement au moins une ligne de la pluralité de lignes deux fois. Lors d'une première sélection, un premier code numérique est écrit sur la ligne sélectionnée et lors d'une seconde sélection un second code numérique est écrit sur la ligne sélectionnée. Il y a un délai préétabli entre la seconde sélection et la première sélection. L'invention concerne aussi des circuits de commande numérique.
