Abstract:
(EN) According to an example, to forward a packet, an access layer device searches a Layer 2 forwarding table according to a source Media Access Control (MAC) address of the packet, and replaces the source MAC address with a mapped virtual MAC address in a matching Layer 2 forwarding entry. The Layer 2 forwarding table is searched according to a destination MAC address of the Ethernet packet. In response to determining that a Layer 2 forwarding entry matching the destination MAC address of the Ethernet packet does not include a MAC address mapped to the destination MAC address, Very Large Layer 2 (VLL2) network protocol encapsulation is performed on the Ethernet packet of which the source MAC address is replaced according to an egress port in the Layer 2 forwarding entry matching the destination MAC address; and the Ethernet packet encapsulated with a VLL2 network protocol header is sent via the egress port.
(FR) Selon un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, la présente invention concerne la retransmission d'un paquet pour laquelle un dispositif de couche d'accès parcourt une table de retransmission de Couche 2 en fonction d'une adresse de contrôle d'accès au support (« Media Access Control » ou MAC) source du paquet, et remplace l'adresse MAC source par une adresse MAC virtuelle mappée dans une entrée de retransmission de Couche 2 correspondante. La table de retransmission de Couche 2 est parcourue en fonction d'une adresse MAC de destination du paquet Ethernet. En réponse à la détermination du fait qu'une entrée de retransmission de Couche 2 correspondant à l'adresse MAC de destination du paquet Ethernet ne comprend pas une adresse MAC mappée à l'adresse MAC de destination, une encapsulation de protocole de réseau Very Large Layer 2 (VLL2) est effectuée sur le paquet Ethernet dont l'adresse MAC source est remplacée selon un port de sortie dans l'entrée de retransmission de Couche 2 correspondant à l'adresse MAC de destination ; et le paquet Ethernet encapsulé avec un en-tête de protocole de réseau VLL2 est envoyé par l'intermédiaire du port de sortie.
