The invention relates to a method (100) for providing a multimedia message service from a server or relay to a user agent in a multimedia network, the method (100) comprising: determining (101) a video content characteristic of a video content by the server or relay; determining (103) display and/or decoding capabilities of the user agent; signaling (105) options of the video content to the user agent; and providing (107) the video content depending on the display and/or decoding capabilities and depending on an option (223) selected via the user agent from the signaled options of the video content.

L'invention concerne un procédé (100) pour fournir un service de message multimédia d'un serveur ou relais à un agent d'utilisateur dans un réseau multimédia, le procédé (100) consistant à : déterminer (101) une caractéristique de contenu vidéo d'un contenu vidéo par le serveur ou relais; déterminer (103) des capacités d'affichage et/ou de décodage de l'agent d'utilisateur; signaler (105) des options du contenu vidéo à l'agent d'utilisateur; et fournir (107) le contenu vidéo en fonction des capacités d'affichage et/ou de décodage et en fonction d'une option (223) sélectionnée par l'intermédiaire de l'agent d'utilisateur parmi les options signalées du contenu vidéo.
