Abstract
(EN) An ultrasound system includes a 3D imaging probe and a needle guide which attaches to the probe for guidance of the insertion of multiple needles into a volumetric region which can be scanned by the 3D imaging probe. The needle guide responds to the insertion of a needle through the guide by identifying a plane for scanning by the probe which is the insertion plane through which the needle will pass during insertion. The orientation of the insertion plane is communicated to the probe to cause the probe to scan the identified plane and produce images of the needle as it travels through the insertion plane.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système ultrasonore, qui comprend une sonde d'imagerie 3D et un guide d'aiguille se fixant à la sonde pour guider l'insertion de multiples aiguilles dans une région volumétrique pouvant être balayée par la sonde d'imagerie 3D. Le guide d'aiguille répond à l'insertion d'une aiguille, au moyen du guide, par l'identification d'un plan devant être balayé par la sonde, ce plan constituant le plan d'insertion par lequel l'aiguille passera lors de son insertion. L'orientation du plan d'insertion est transmise à la sonde afin de déclencher le balayage, par celle-ci, du plan identifié, et la production, par ladite sonde, d'images de l'aiguille à mesure que celle-ci traverse le plan d'insertion.
