A method of calibrating a dual gain ADC detector system is disclosed comprising passing a test signal through a high gain signal path to produce a first signal 10 and passing a test signal through a low gain signal path to produce a second signal 6. A time difference 12 between the first signal 10 and the second signal 6 is then determined. Data from the two ADCs 5,9 is then stitched to form a composite mass spectrum without needing to correct the phase between the two ADCs 5,9.

Un procédé d'étalonnage d'un système détecteur de CAN double gain est divulgué, procédé comprenant les étapes qui consistent à faire passer un signal de test sur un trajet de signal à gain élevé pour produire un premier signal 10 et un signal de test sur un trajet de signal à faible gain pour produire un deuxième signal 6. Une différence temporelle 12 entre le premier signal 10 et le deuxième signal 6 est ensuite déterminée. Les données provenant des deux CAN 5, 9 sont ensuite assemblées pour former un spectre de masse composite sans qu'il soit nécessaire de corriger la phase entre les deux CAN 5, 9.
