Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an image display technology whereby a user can intuitively and easily ascertain what characteristic objects have been identified by image recognition processing in a forward image. [Solution] When a road sign (21) that is the subject of recognition is identified by image recognition, a target marker (31) is immediately displayed around the image portion of the road sign (21) in question and, at the same time, a moving object (32) is displayed in the vicinity of this target marker (31). Display of the moving object (32) is continued whilst moving this moving object towards a position at the bottom left-hand corner, which is an extracted image display position. When the moving object (32) reaches the extracted image display position at the bottom left-hand corner, an extracted image (33) obtained by extracting the image portion of the road sign (21) which was in the region within the aforementioned target marker (31) is displayed to a larger scale. In this way it is possible to perform image recognition that identifies the position of the road sign in the display coordinates (x1-y1) of the forward image and to indicate clearly what information is conveyed by this image portion.
