Abstract
(EN)
A fusion cage system includes an implant, a retractor and insertion guide, and an inserter. The implant includes a cylindrical shaft having a circumference, a trailing end, a leading end, and an interior cavity. The implant further includes self-tapping threads positioned along the circumference of the cylindrical shaft, the self-tapping threads being interrupted by at least one fenestration in the cylindrical shaft. The implant further includes self-coring teeth at the leading end of the cylindrical shaft. During an open-wedge osteotomy procedure, the implant is driven into the bone. During implantation, the threads and self-coring teeth enhance the drilling process, and further automatically guide bone chips into the osteotomy as the implant body rotates through the bone.
