Abstract
(EN)
The invention provides an authorization system comprising a mobile communications device for use by a merchant, the mobile communications device having a camera or other sensing function, and a server for storing data relating to card details of a customer of the merchant. At a first transaction event involving the customer, a first photograph of that customer is taken by the camera function and first data representing the first photograph is sent to the server, where it is stored. At a subsequent transaction involving the same card a second photograph of the customer of this subsequent transaction is taken by the camera function and second data representing this second photograph is sent to the server; the server compares the first and second data using face-recognition software; the server then sends to the mobile communications device an indication of the goodness of the match between the first and second data. A sufficiently good match constitutes a positive authorization.
(FR)
