Pipe sections and methods for forming pipe sections are disclosed. A pipe section includes a hollow body, the hollow body having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface defining an interior. The pipe section further includes a barrier layer surrounding the hollow body, the barrier layer having an inner surface and an outer surface. The barrier layer is formed from a polyarylene sulfide composition. The polyarylene sulfide composition includes a polyarylene sulfide and a crosslinked impact modifier. Such pipe sections exhibit high strength characteristics and flexibility as well as resistance to degradation, even in extreme temperature environments, while maintaining desirable processing characteristics.

L'invention concerne des sections de canalisation et des procédés pour former des sections de canalisation. L'invention concerne une section de canalisation comprenant un corps creux, ce corps creux présentant une surface interne et une surface externe, la surface interne définissant un espace intérieur. La section de canalisation comprend également une couche barrière qui entoure le corps creux, cette couche barrière présentant une surface interne et une surface externe. La couche barrière est formée à partir d'une composition de sulfure de polyarylène. Cette composition de sulfure de polyarylène comprend un sulfure de polyarylène et un agent antichoc réticulé. Ce type de sections de canalisation présentent des caractéristiques de résistance et une flexibilité élevées à la dégradation, même dans des environnements ou règnent des températures extrêmes et conservent néanmoins des propriétés de traitement souhaitables.
