Systems and methods for communicating long packets are described herein. In some aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a processor and transmitter. The processor is configured to determine a modulation coding scheme (MCS) of a plurality of MCSs for a plurality of data symbols, each MCS of the plurality of MCS having a different MCS index value. Further, the processor is configured to generate a data unit comprising a set of training fields periodically inserted between the plurality of data symbols after every n number of data symbols, where n depends on the MCS index value of the MCS. The transmitter is configured to transmit wirelessly via wireless local area network the data unit to one or more devices.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés permettant de transmettre des paquets longs. Dans certains aspects, un appareil pour la transmission sans fil comprend un processeur et un émetteur. Ledit processeur est conçu pour déterminer un système de modulation et de codage (MCS) appartenant à une pluralité de MCS pour une pluralité de symboles de données, chaque MCS de la pluralité de MCS ayant une valeur indice de MCS différente. De plus, le processeur sert à générer une unité de données comportant une série de champs d'apprentissage insérés périodiquement tous les n symboles de données entre lesdits symboles de données, n dépendant de la valeur indice MCS du MCS. Ledit émetteur est destiné à émettre l'unité de données par les ondes, grâce à un réseau local sans fil, afin qu'elle soit reçue par un ou plusieurs dispositifs.
