Abstract:
(EN) The induced macro-cell corrosion prevention method includes the step of replacing a corroded or chloride-contaminated section (12) of a steel reinforcement or rebar (16) in steel-reinforced concrete (10) with a new rebar section (18) free of chloride. A non-conductive insulating buffer (20) is placed between the end sections of the new rebar (18) and the corresponding end sections of adjacent chloride-contaminated rebar sections (16) in order to form a non-conductive layer (20) between the new steel (18) and the old steel (16). This prevents or substantially reduces formation of a macro-cell that would cause a galvanic reaction to occur and increase corrosion potential.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé de prévention contre la corrosion induite par macrocellule faisant appel à l'étape de remplacement d'une section corrodée ou contaminée par du chlorure (12) d'un renfort ou barre pour béton armé (16) en acier dans un béton armé ferraillé (10) par une nouvelle section de barre pour béton armé (18) exempte de chlorure. Selon l'invention, un tampon isolant non-conducteur (20) est placé entre les sections d'extrémité de la nouvelle barre pour béton armé (18) et les sections d'extrémité correspondantes des sections adjacentes de barre pour béton armé (16) contaminées par du chlorure afin de former une couche non-conductrice (20) entre le nouvel acier (18) et l'ancien acier (16). Ceci empêche ou réduit sensiblement la formation d'une macrocellule qui provoquerait l'apparition d'une réaction galvanique et augmenterait le potentiel de corrosion.
