At least one amino acid selected from the group consisting of L-arginine, L-citrulline and L-ornithine can be produced with high efficiency by culturing a coryneform bacterium in a culture medium to produce and accumulate the amino acid in a culture and then collecting the amino acid from the culture, wherein the coryneform bacterium is produced by introducing the deletion, substitution or addition of at least one nucleotide into at least one gene that occurs on chromosomal DNA in a parent strain and encodes a protein having an L-arginine, L-citrulline or L-ornithine uptake activity so that the activity of uptake of the amino acid in the coryneform bacterium is reduced compared with that in the parent strain or the activity is lost, and can produce the amino acid.

Selon l'invention, au moins un acide aminé choisi dans le groupe consistant en L-arginine, L-citrulline et L-ornithine peut être produit avec une efficacité élevée par la culture d'une bactérie corynéforme dans un milieu de culture, pour produire et accumuler l'acide aminé dans une culture, puis la collecte de l'acide aminé à partir de la culture, la bactérie corynéforme étant produite par l'introduction de la délétion, de la substitution ou de l'addition d'au moins un nucléotide dans au moins un gène qui est présent sur l'ADN chromosomique dans une souche parente et code pour une protéine ayant une activité de capture de L-arginine, L-citrulline ou L-ornithine, de sorte que l'activité de capture de l'acide aminé dans la bactérie corynéforme est réduite en comparaison à celle dans la souche parente ou l'activité est perdue, et peut produire l'acide aminé.

 親株の染色体DNA上に存在する、L-アルギニン、L-シトルリンまたはL-オルニチンの取り込み活性を有する蛋白質をコードする1以上の遺伝子に1以上の塩基の欠失、置換または付加が導入されたことにより、親株に比べL-アルギニン、L-シトルリンおよびL-オルニチンからなる群より選ばれる1以上のアミノ酸の取り込み活性が低下または喪失しており、かつ該アミノ酸を生産することができるコリネ型細菌を培地に培養し、培養物中に該アミノ酸を生成蓄積させ、該培養物中から該アミノ酸を採取することにより、該アミノ酸を効率よく製造することができる。
