Mentally challenged persons such as autistic children and Alzheimer's patients can become lost and they are hard to find because they have difficulty communicating or they are confused and disoriented. The present invention provides an apparatus, system and methods for locating lost persons whether they are indoors or outdoors. The apparatus comprises a cellular telephone unit which can be activated by a RF signal and which a child or patient can wear. The wearable unit can be activated by a caregiver's smart phone having a locating application installed therein. The locating application enables the caregiver to locate the lost person using radio direction finder triangulation when the lost person is within a few hundred feet of the caregiver. When the lost person is further away, the locating application employs eel! Phone tower triangulation or the wearable unit GPS/Assisted GPS application to determine an approximate location of the lost person.

Des personnes ayant une déficience intellectuelle, telles que des enfants autistes et des patients souffrant d'Alzheimer, peuvent se perdre et elles sont difficiles à trouver en raison du fait qu'elles ont des difficultés à communiquer ou elles sont perdues et désorientées. La présente invention concerne un appareil, un système et des procédés pour localiser des personnes perdues si elles sont à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur. L'appareil comprend une unité de téléphone cellulaire qui peut être activée par un signal radiofréquence (RF) et qu'un enfant ou un patient peut porter. L'unité pouvant être portée peut être activée par le téléphone intelligent d'un fournisseur de soins ayant une application de localisation installée dans celui-ci. L'application de localisation permet au fournisseur de soins de localiser la personne perdue à l'aide d'une triangulation radiogoniométrique lorsque la personne perdue est à quelques centaines de pieds du fournisseur de soins. Lorsque la personne perdue est davantage éloignée, l'application de localisation emploie une triangulation de tour de téléphone cellulaire ou l'application GPS/assistée par GPS de l'unité pouvant être portée pour déterminer une localisation approximative de la personne perdue.
