Abstract:
This deep-red light-emitting magnesium fluoro-germanate fluorescent body is obtained by baking a mixture containing magnesium oxide, a fluorine compound, a germanium compound, and a manganese compound and exhibits light emission having the greatest peak in the 640-680 nm wavelength range when excited by light having a 400 nm wavelength. The deep-red light-emitting magnesium fluoro-germanate fluorescent body, which is characterized by the magnesium oxide being a magnesium oxide micropowder having a BET specific surface area in the range of 5-200 m2/g, exhibits high light-emission strength when excited by light having a 400 nm wavelength.
