Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a negative electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, which is composed of a composite particle powder of metal particles and a thermosetting resin or a carbide of a thermosetting resin, and wherein the average particle diameter of the composite particle powder is 5-100 μm; and a lithium ion secondary battery which is characterized by using the negative electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries. The lithium ion secondary battery of the present invention is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery wherein volume expansion associated with Li absorption is suppressed.
