Abstract:
(EN) A wireless communications device has network interfaces for accessing cellular data networks and Wi-Fi wireless local area networks. Wi-Fi offload allows data traffic to be moved away from the cellular network to the Wi-Fi network. To avoid any existing data sessions being broken during offload, Proxy Mobile IP (PMIP) must be supported by a Wi-Fi access point and associated Mobile Access Gateway. After Wi-Fi association and authentication, the wireless communication device probes the access point and MAG to determine whether PMIP is supported.
(FR) Dispositif de communication sans fil possédant des interfaces réseau pour accéder aux réseaux de données cellulaires et aux réseaux locaux sans fil Wi-Fi. Le délestage Wi-Fi permet au trafic de données de passer du réseau cellulaire au réseau Wi-Fi. Pour éviter qu'une quelconque session de données existante soit interrompue pendant un délestage, un protocole IP Mobile Mandataire (PMIP) doit être pris en charge par un point d'accès Wi-Fi et une passerelle d'accès mobile associée. Après association et authentification Wi-Fi, le dispositif de communication sans fil sonde le point d'accès et la passerelle d'accès mobile (MAG) pour déterminer si un PMIP est pris en charge.
