This optical fiber is provided with a central core, a side core and a cladding. The periphery of the central core includes a ring portion in which the relative refractive index difference changes discontinuously. Defining a as the radius from the core center to outside of the ring portion, and c as the radius up to the position where the relative refractive index difference is maximal in the side core, by realizing a refractive-index distribution of a shape in which c/a is 2.25 to 2.50, the variance value, cable cut-off wavelength, bending loss at a diameter of 20mm, and effective cross-sectional area can be configured in a desired range.

Fibre optique pourvue d'une âme centrale, d'une âme latérale et d'une gaine. La périphérie de l'âme centrale comprend une partie annulaire dans laquelle la différence relative d'indice de réfraction change de manière discontinue. En définissant a comme le rayon à partir du centre de l'âme jusqu'à l'extérieur de la partie annulaire, et c comme le rayon jusqu'à la position où la différence relative d'indice de réfraction est maximale dans l'âme latérale, en réalisant une distribution d'indice de réfraction d'une forme dans laquelle c/a est de 2,25 à 2,50, on peut configurer dans une plage souhaitée la valeur de variance, la longueur d'onde de coupure de câble, la perte par courbure à un diamètre de 20 mm, et une section transversale effective.

 本実施形態に係る光ファイバは、中心コアと、サイドコアと、クラッドとを備える。中心コアは、その周辺部に比屈折率差が不連続に変化するリング部を含み、コア中心からリング部外側までの半径をaとし、サイドコアにおいて比屈折率差が最大となる位置までの半径をcとするとき、c/aが2.25~2.50となる形状の屈折率分布を実現することにより、分散値、ケーブルカットオフ波長、直径20mmでの曲げ損失、実効断面積が所望の範囲に設定可能になる。
