Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a display device capable of suppressing reduction in display quality even during pause drive, and of altering the brightness of a light source in accordance with the image to be displayed. Pause drive at 7.5 Hz is performed in a liquid crystal display device having a CABC function. A transition period is provided during which an image is gradually changed when switching the image to be displayed from a bright image (X) to a dark image (Y). The length of an auxiliary transition period is 5 frames during the transition period. When the transition period starts, the length of the vertical display period switches from 8 frames to 1 frame. In other words, the 7.5 Hz pause drive switches to a 60 Hz normal drive. In this way, the screen is always refreshed during each auxiliary transition period during the transition period, as a result of the length of the vertical display period being made no greater than the length of the auxiliary transition period.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage capable de supprimer une réduction de la qualité d'affichage même durant une commande de pause, et de modifier la luminosité d'une source de lumière selon l'image à afficher. Une commande de pause à 7,5 Hz est effectuée dans un dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides ayant une fonction CABC. Une période de transition est fournie durant laquelle une image est progressivement changée lorsque l'image à afficher passe d'une image brillante (X) à une image sombre (Y). La longueur d'une période de transition auxiliaire est de 5 trames durant la période de transition. Lorsque la période de transition démarre, la longueur de la période d'affichage vertical commute de 8 trames à 1 trame. En d'autres termes, la commande de pause à 7,5 Hz passe à une commande normale à 60 Hz. De cette façon, l'écran est toujours rafraîchi durant chaque période de transition auxiliaire durant la période de transition, avec le résultat que la longueur de la période d'affichage vertical n'est pas supérieure à la longueur de la période de transition auxiliaire.
(JA)  休止駆動を行う場合でも表示品位の低下を抑制しつつ表示すべき画像に応じて光源の輝度を変更可能な表示装置を提供する。 CABC機能を有する液晶表示装置において、7.5Hzの休止駆動を行う。表示すべき画像を明るい画像Xから暗い画像Yに切り替える場合に画像を段階的に変化させる遷移期間を設ける。遷移期間では、副遷移期間の長さは5フレームである。遷移期間が開始すると、垂直表示期間の長さは8フレームから1フレームに切り替わる。すなわち、7.5Hzの休止駆動が60Hzの通常駆動に切り替わる。このように、垂直表示期間の長さを副遷移期間の長さ以下とすることにより、遷移期間中の各副遷移期間において、画面のリフレッシュが必ず行われる。
