Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a new method for increasing drought resistance of a plant. The method encompasses the impairment of the expression of a gene or genes in said plant. In comparison to a plant not manipulated to impair the expression of said gene(s), the plants display improved drought resistance. Also provided are plants and plant product that can be obtained by the method according to the invention.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un nouveau procédé visant à améliorer la résistance de plantes à la sécheresse. Ce procédé inclut l'altération de l'expression d'un gène ou de gènes dans ladite plante. Par comparaison à une plante qui n'a pas été manipulée pour altérer l'expression du/des gène(s), les plantes présentent une meilleure résistance à la sécheresse. Cette invention concerne en outre les plantes et un produit végétal pouvant être obtenus au moyen dudit procédé.
